Inside Madelyn Cline’s Monthly Facial Appointment
Released on 07/10/2025
Oh my God, I have such tea to tell you.
[Sarah] Oh my God, I can't wait.
We probably shouldn't do it.
I was going to say. It's not now.
[Sarah] I know, yeah, I was going to say,
we probably shouldn't do it on camera.
That's not for now.
Hello.
Hi, Allure.
Come with me to get a DMK facial.
[pen scratching]
[Madelyn squeaking]
Hi. Hi.
This is my friend Sarah Ford.
She's also my esthetician.
We've known each other for...
Several years.
Two years now.
And she loves to come once a month.
Yeah. To get treatments.
Fix my face.
[tongue clicking]
Yay. Okay, great.
We're going to get started.
You're going to change to this robe.
Okay, great.
Bye. You guys have to get out.
It's not that kind of production.
Normally, I charge. Bye.
[casual music]
Just want to get a good facial
before the shoots coming up for texture,
hydration, lifting, lymphatic drainage,
all of everything.
You just want to feel rejuvenated.
I need it.
Yeah, we know.
I need you.
What is the DMK?
Have we done it before?
No, you actually never done the DMK.
So the DMK is a lifting enzyme
that kind of just sends nutrients to the epidermis
and it creates like plasma, red blood cell circulation.
Perfect. So your skin's just
healthy, lifted, sculpted.
Which is great.
Clients are obsessed with it.
It's like what they do all before events.
Okay, good. And photo shoots.
So I think you'll like it a lot.
Chef special. Yeah.
I'm going to let you lay down and get comfortable.
And then I'll be in behind you.
Okay, great.
Do I do this?
I'll do that. Okay. [snickers]
Oh my God. Is this a warmed bed?
[Sarah] It is, I warmed it for you.
Oh, you did?
[Sarah] I did.
Oh my God, amazing.
Amazed, no?
[Sarah] Yes.
[lively music]
So every single time, we do facials
and you wash my face for a very long time.
Is that how long I should be washing my face?
[Sarah] Yes.
How long is it?
About like a five-minute wash?
[Madelyn] Whoa.
At least a double to triple cleanse.
Because you'll be surprised
at how much excess dirt and debris comes off.
Okay. Because even people
will cleanse like two times,
and then take a toner pad
and still remove so much stuff that they'll see.
It is crazy.
Okay, five-minute wash.
I'm like a 30-second special.
I know you are.
[hands rustling]
So this is an enzyme cleanser
that has bromelain, kumquat, papaya.
And I love gentle enzymes
because they're great at eating away dead skin
without stripping the barrier.
So sometimes I like to leave this cleanser on
a little bit longer.
So when I take it off, clients don't feel dry or stripped,
they just feel more refreshed before I start the treatment.
I mean, the gloves right now are really good.
Like the sound they're making in my ear.
I watch ASMR to go to sleep, but it's shelf organization.
[steam hissing]
Oh my God, I have such tea to tell you.
[Sarah] Oh my God, I can't wait.
[record scratching] We probably shouldn't do it.
I was going to say. It's not now.
[Sarah] I know, yeah, I was going to say,
we probably shouldn't do it on camera.
It's not for now.
[water bubbling]
Oh.
It's so good.
[glove creaking]
[liquid dripping]
[mixture lapping]
Do you want to smell it?
[Madelyn chuckles]
[Madelyn sniffs]
It's like if like milk and Sav Blanc
and like peroxide had a baby.
Okay. Interesting.
That's not what I usually I get.
What do you usually get?
[Sarah] Like egg yolk.
Oh, wait, really? Wait, can I smell the brush?
[Madelyn sniffs]
Yeah, I get that.
I can get egg yolk.
I'm getting hungry thinking about it.
[Sarah] Mm.
Hot dog.
Hot dog.
My record is five in one sitting.
[Sarah] Oh my God.
Tickles. It's tickling me.
Try not to move. Fuck.
[fan clicks]
[fan humming]
Hmm.
[Sarah] Right here and right here,
you're going to see her pulse.
So now she's going to be sitting for about 40 to 45 minutes.
And that's it.
We're going to step out so she could relax.
[lively music]
[lively music continues]
[lively music continues]
[Director] How are you feeling, Maddie?
[Madelyn muttering]
[Madelyn squeaking]
[lively music]
As it starts to harden,
she's going to feel tight, itchy,
a little sensitivity.
That's all part of the process of the circulation happening.
But usually clients can get through it
for like the first 25, 30 minutes.
And then the last 10 minutes
is when it really starts to harden
and they feel the pulse of the treatment.
[Madelyn muttering]
It's really tight and really itchy, right?
Mm-hmm.
Where do you feel it pulsating the most?
In your decollete.
It's where a lot of the lymph nodes
are getting that circulation.
[lively music]
All right. Are we ready?
Mm-hmm. It's time to take it off.
I'm about to free you.
[glove creaking]
[hands smacking]
[steam hissing]
Finally, I can move my mouth again.
[steam hissing]
That was so itchy.
I think when the enzymes start to freeze the face
and it kind of like just tugs and pulls,
it just starts to give more of just like an itchy sensation
because of like your nerves
and the sensation of the circulation of your veins.
So that's why people tend to feel
a little bit of that itchiness,
because it's like very stimulating.
[hands swishing]
I felt like I had, like, dry scooped pre-workout.
And then, like, just itchy and tingly everywhere.
[Sarah] Mm-hmm.
You were not lying when you said mummify.
Oh, yeah. No, I wasn't.
I wasn't joking, huh?
[hands swishing]
[steam hissing]
Let me know if it's too hot.
Because she got a really good plasma effect.
Like, this is what we're looking for,
and she got a really good one.
So I'll turn off the steam.
Sorry, I know it gets everywhere.
It's really messy.
I didn't want to eat it.
She's getting all the circulation
through her capillaries,
and her veins.
And this is what we call the plasma effect.
You could see it up here in her forehead,
all around the face,
to make sure that we're touching base.
Lifting, detoxifying, strengthening of the barrier.
So once we completely melt this off
and I get a lot of good circulation,
her skin's going to feel so soft and amazing.
We're going to go back to quickly
just melting more of the excess off
and get her nice and dry for her surprise.
Yay. Surprise.
Surprise, surprise.
Surprise.
I mean, since this is such a natural treatment
just for skin health in general,
you could do it up to once a month if people wanted to.
It's one of my favorite treatments
and it's what of a lot of my clients like to do.
[steam hissing]
Oh my God. It feels so nice.
I'm thinking about [indistinct] right now.
That sounds so good. Right?
Or like Shake Shack.
Oh, yummy.
I just want a burger.
Animal-style fries.
[Sarah] You could touch your skin for a split second.
[Madelyn gasps]
What the fuck?
[Madelyn gasps]
[Sarah] Oh, yeah.
Whoa!
[Sarah] Mm-hmm.
That's not my skin.
Oh my gosh!
[Madelyn gasps]
That's crazy.
[Sarah] Mm-hmm.
Okay. No.
No good.
[Madelyn and Sarah chuckle]
Enough!
[glove creaking]
So now, I'm actually going to do a plasma delivery treatment
that's going to create little microchannels
that open up her skin,
so that the next product that I'm going to use,
which is going to be another little surprise,
is going to give her that nice, beautiful, tight glow
that she's looking for.
Ready?
[Plasmatique buzzing]
Ooh.
[Plasmatique buzzing]
More tingle sensations.
[Plasmatique buzzing]
So the next surprise that I'm going to put on you is
salmon DNA.
What?
This is going to rejuvenate your epidermis,
give you a beautiful, hydrated, dewy glow.
And it's really going to strengthen
the top layer of your skin.
Oh my God.
I've been thinking about this
since I was in Australia.
[Sarah snickers]
I've been waiting for this moment.
[gentle music]
[fingers swishing]
[gentle music continues]
[fingers swishing]
It feels so good.
Salmon DNA.
[hands lapping]
[hands rustling]
The next thing I'm going to add is just this mask
that's going to lock everything in.
It just has some aloe and hyaluronic acid,
pretty much lock in all the hydration that we just put.
[Madelyn] Hmm.
[brush swishing]
[glove creaking]
[Sarah] So it's going to sit
and lock in for about five to 10 minutes
while she's under the blue light
to kind of help reduce the redness from the plasma treatment
so her skin can look more calm,
so she doesn't look crazy leaving.
Because we never want clients to look crazy leaving,
especially when they're going to be out in public.
So we're going to hide that a little bit.
So the cryotherapy is going to calm the skin
and incubate and lock everything in,
and kind of just reduce that redness
so she has more of a glow undertone.
So then we're just going to let it sit.
Ooh. Yay.
[Sarah] Then you're going to see the wow factor.
Oh, this is fun. I like these.
And then we're just going to add some blue light therapy.
Blue light helps with redness, inflammation,
it's anti-microbial, and it's very calming to the skin.
So it's going to sit for about 10 minutes.
[Madelyn] Is it on?
Yep. Wow.
So we're going to lift, all the redness has come down,
and she's just going to be looking
really healthy and hydrated.
[Sarah gasps]
Hmm. I feel clean.
[Sarah] Yeah?
I feel like,
whatever I felt was wrong was on my face before is now gone.
Good. Do you feel like you just
detoxed everything out of your life?
Crazy, in the best way.
My eyelids feel funny.
Nope. [record scratching]
Okay. [snickers]
No touching. Period.
Period.
If you could keep this on and sleep in it
and just like not touch it,
the more benefits it'll be for your skin.
I just want, I'm just going to do a mascara.
Yeah. And some lip liner.
At least, I would say,
for about a week, I wouldn't use exfoliants.
I would actually just focus on hydration.
Okay, perfect. Sarah is petting my head.
She's freshly exfoliated,
and she has a lot of good, beneficial,
hydrating ingredients into the skin.
So let's try to leave it on for as long as we can,
and then just focus on hydration.
Yeah, sure.
Thank you, Sarah.
You are welcome.
[Madelyn gasps]
What the hell?
I am the mirror.
Look at those pores.
Which, where?
Hmm.
Oh my God.
So clean.
[Director] Would you get this treatment again?
100 times over.
I would just like,
maybe like, take a beta blocker
for the panic of having to sit still.
I would do this every month.
[casual music]
Bye, Allure, thanks for coming with me.
Wait.
Look.
I'm so shiny.
Not me looking at my reflection in the lens.
Bye.
