When a man loves a woman and said man is a famous singer, it's only natural that he'd write songs that mention how enamored he is with her beauty. But when that man is Justin Bieber and that woman is his wife, Hailey Bieber—known for both starting beauty trends and being a powerhouse beauty entrepreneur—odes take on a different vibe.
Justin unexpectedly dropped a new album, SWAG, on July 11, and taken-aback Beliebers rejoiced, immediately listening all the way through and picking apart the lyrics. I… was not among them (when “Baby” dropped, I hadn't been a baby in about 30 years, so let's just say I was never the key demo). But I was alerted to the fact that he alludes to his wife multiple times (but of course!) and calls out a few things that her biggest beauty fans clocked instantly.
First, there's the song “Go Baby,” which starts off by referencing her recently E.L.F.-acquired skin-care and makeup brand. “There's my baby. She's iconic,” the lyrics begin, followed by, “iPhone case, lip gloss on it"—clearly a nod to the now instantly recognizable (and often imitated) Rhode Lip Case, which is designed to fit the brand's Peptide Lip Treatment and Tints.

Then there's “Devotion,” a collab with Dijon, in which he sings, “When your lips and fingernails are all glowin'.” (It's worth noting that a few lyrics websites claim he's saying, “Well, your lips and fingernails are on mine,” but I absolutely do not hear that, and the Beliebers I consulted agree with me, especially because the next line is, “Then I know that I should be going,” which actually rhymes with “glowing.”) And if there's anyone known for glowing lips and especially glowing—read: glazed donut—nails, it's Hailey.
He might not have name-dropped Rhode directly or called Hailey a nail influencer, but as far as we're concerned, he did the next best thing.
